J. Steven Southwell, PA is a multi-faceted firm focused on personal
service to a broad range of clients. Our goal is to provide exemplary service to clients ranging from large multi-national corporations to small businesses to individuals.

Our focus is our clients. The practice centers on assisting farmers, contractors, developers, property owners, lenders and ordinary folks with matters relating to Land Use, Real Estate and Business law.

J. Steven Southwell

Steven Southwell is a life-long Floridian. Steven was born in Arcadia, grew up in Wauchula and attended the University of Florida, earning Bachelor of Science in Food and Resource Economics with a focus on AgBusiness Management and Marketing and Master of AgBusiness degrees from the College of Agriculture and his Juris Doctor from the College of Law.

Prior to law school Steven worked in sales and marketing within the AgBusiness sector for crop production companies and specialized agricultural software design firm. Steven began his legal practice in Tampa with a statewide firm focusing on environmental, land use, zoning and regulatory issues. Steven was fortunate to return to his hometown of Wauchula in 2006. Steven is marred to Tiffany and proud to be the father of three young children.

Steven is active in the First United Methodist Church of Wauchula, serves on the Boards of Directors of the Hardee County Chamber of Commerce, where he is currently President, the Hardee YMCA, the Donnie Canary Foundation and is a past president of the Wauchula Kiwanis Club. Steven enjoys fishing, hunting and Florida Gator sports, especially when he can take his son and daughters along.

The Team

Legal assistants Jan Knight and Emily Oldham round out our team. Emily provides support with litigation, guardianship and probate matters among others. Jan focuses on closing real estate transactions. Emily and Jan are efficient, highly skilled professionals and are an integral part of the practice.
